Reading is a foundation for not only learning, but also as fuel for the imagination to run wild. This theme is evident in Downey Float Association’s 68th parade entry, which presents three storybooks offering dramatically different journeys.  

 

“A 1950s-era rocket blasts off from the first book, followed by two tigers frolicking in the jungle. An underwater scene emerges from the third tome, with a colorful submarine and turtle traveling through the ocean,” the release states.  “From the stars to a safari to under the sea,” the float’s concept declares, “Reading: It’s An Adventure.”
