The Downey Rose Float Association is totally self-supporting. It finances its activities through various fund raisers. Fund raising goes on all year long.  You will see the Downey Rose Float Association at Miss Downey Pageant, Kid's Day, Fireworks Stand, Concerts in the Park, Holiday Lane Parade Booth and various other special events throughout the year.  Please check our Events Page for upcoming events and activities.

We sell Rose Float Memorabilia, i.e. pins, programs, hats, cups, shirts, etc.  Memberships and individual contributions help with the costs.

We have no paid employees. All our efforts are through volunteer help.  Anyone who would like to join our efforts are most welcome.

Each year our businesses, friends and neighbors provide untold amounts of goods and services to make our efforts possible. We hope you will reach out and help us continue a tradition steeped in pride that comes from caring and sharing, that commodity that makes Downey so special. NO RESERVATIONS NECESSARY, JUST COME ON DOWN

Come join us each December from the 26th through the 30th from 10am until 10pm for any amount of time to help make another wonderful float. We are open to people of all ages, no special skills, experience, or membership required. If you are willing to work then we have a job for you. We do provide lunch and dinner for anyone who works through a meal period. If you are part of a large group please send us an e-mail so we can make sure there is enough food, if you plan to eat with us, just include the name of your group, how many there will be, what day or days and times you will be planning to work. We do require that minors have a parent or guardian on site to supervise. Anyone under the age of 14 is not allowed to be on top of the float however there are plenty of important jobs that can be done from solid ground. We have release forms available below for you to fill out and bring with you. They will also be available onsite.
